BEDFORD, CAMBRIA, SOMERSET— The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is pleased to announce that it has recently awarded 60 applicants with grants totaling $126,382.
This year’s Spring grant round received 93 applications requesting nearly $500,000 in grants to support projects from Bedford, Cambria, and Somerset counties.
“Our Distribution Committee has the very difficult, yet very rewarding, job of reviewing all of the applications that we receive during our Spring and Fall grant rounds. It is difficult when they are unable to fully or partially award projects that could offer valuable community services, and yet it is rewarding to be reminded of all of the good work that is being done throughout the region to make this a better place to live and work,” said Angie Berzonski, Program & Communications Officer for the Foundation. “In addition to the volunteer service of this committee, we are tremendously appreciative of the donors who contribute to our Fund for the Future, which is used to increase this grant pool and help us to help more organizations.”
