The Community Foundations National Standards Board (CFNSB) has applauded the efforts of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies with reconfirmation of compliance with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations™. With this achievement, CFA continues to be a part of a group of community foundations that has met the nation’s highest philanthropic standards for operational quality, integrity, and accountability. National Standards accreditation is a commitment to transparency, excellence, stewardship, and leadership. Since 2000, more than 500 community foundations display the National Standards Seal that denotes they achieved accreditation. The ultimate rewards of accreditation and the subsequent reconfirmation are the credibility it brings to the Foundation and the confidence it gives donors, professional advisers, and others who seek a qualified, trustworthy philanthropic partner.
The National Standards seal demonstrates CFA’s commitment to accountability, excellence, and service. It affirms that our management aligns with nationally recognized effective practices, and distinguishes us from other community foundations and philanthropic organizations that have not met these rigorous standards.
