In 2023, The EADS Group, Inc. and EADS employees contributed more than $23,700 in donations to support The EADS Group Charitable Foundation, a foundation that donates to charities selected by EADS employees. The EADS Group Charitable Foundation Fund inspires EADS employees to make tax-deductible charitable contributions through payroll deductions.
More than 40 area charities benefited from the generosity of their donations in 2023. Organizations included food banks, humane society shelters, local firefighters, wellness groups, and scholarship funds. If you would like to see a complete list of the recipients, please click here.
The initiative by the EADS employees to donate to local charities during the holidays has been in place since 1971. “In 2021, we celebrated 50 years of employee donations to community charities, marking 2023 as our 52nd year of donating to our selected charities,” said Cindy Rabish, an Executive Assistant with The EADS Group Inc.
The EADS Group Charitable Foundation Fund transitioned to the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies (CFA) in 2018. Today, with the assistance of CFA, the donations are tax-deductible, and a year-end contribution statement from CFA is provided to those who participate, which is helpful for tax preparation purposes.
“EADS’ employees have always been a very giving group from the start of the Charity Fund in the Altoona Office, and 100 percent participation was always strived for and usually achieved! Very proud to be a small piece of such a fine organization!” said Joan M. Tomlinson, EADS Bookkeeper.
The EADS Group, Inc. has provided a 100 percent match in funds to those contributed by employees since teaming up with CFA. Most EADS employees in Johnstown, Altoona, Somerset, Clarion, Lewistown, North Huntingdon, PA, Cumberland, MD, and Morgantown, WV participate yearly.
