This week, Community Foundation for the Alleghenies showed support for community foundations in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas.
CFA gave a $1,000 gift to El Paso Community Foundation and a $1,000 gift to The Dayton Foundation. Both foundations have funds set up to assist communities and victims in the wake of the mass shooting tragedies there.
Community foundations respond to more types of community needs than people might realize, CFA President Mike Kane said.
“We’re supporting these communities because we believe community foundations exist to respond to local needs in times of tragedy and to help support individuals in vulnerable situations,” he said.
