Dedicated Teacher Honored Through Scholarship Fund
Cheryl Adams was a dedicated English teacher who inspired her students in many ways.
Her former students regard her with high esteem, and many of them believe they succeeded in college compositions because of her instruction and influence. Cheryl spent her entire 35+ year career in the Westmont Hilltop School District starting with middle-grade level classes at the former Westmont Hilltop Junior High, then moving to the high school where she started with 9th grade English and went on to teach other grade levels along with journalism and AP English 12.
Cheryl loved teaching and loved her students and was so proud of the many success stories about these students in their chosen professions. She also enjoyed her work with students on the school newspaper and strove to make it a worthy publication that both her staff and the district could admire.
Cheryl had a wonderful sense of humor, a love for hiking and outdoor activities, a great enjoyment of theater and dramatic productions, and a deep Christian faith which led her to become a lay preacher in the United Methodist Church. Her memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of her former students, former colleagues, family, and friends.
