Team up with hundreds of nonprofit organizations throughout western Pennsylvania at the Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership Summit, October 5th & 6th in Pittsburgh. This year, a funding package is available for nonprofits that wish to attend, from Cambria, Indiana, and Somerset counties.
The Benedum Foundation is providing scholarships to local nonprofits, covering almost the entire cost of registration. Funds are also available to qualifying organizations for up to half the cost of hotel accommodations, as a result of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies’ sponsorship of the conference. This is a combined value of $225.
“Our partnerships with nonprofits throughout western Pennsylvania are another way local communities are building a bridge to Pittsburgh,” says Community Foundation President Mike Kane. “When we collaborate with our Pittsburgh neighbors, we can tackle some of our most pressing issues on a regional scale. We get a broader understanding of progress and how to achieve it, and we all benefit from a greater pool of talent and ideas.”
This year’s Summit is titled: Equity. Innovation. Transformation.
From the event website: “Organized along three tracks — health equity, economic equity and education equity — this year’s summit asks several important questions: How can we as a region ensure every resident lives a healthy, productive life? How do we bring family-sustaining jobs to our urban, suburban and rural locales? And how do we provide every learner with the knowledge, skills and creativity needed to thrive in a changing world?”
Here’s how the scholarship and room reimbursement will work:
When you register for the conference, enter BENEDUM2017 as a discount code, and your scholarship will be applied before checkout.
Nonprofits from Cambria, Indiana, and Somerset counties qualify for the room reimbursement. For the room funding, pay for your hotel room through the official conference link, and then submit your invoices to the GPNP for payment.
Scholarships and room reimbursements are limited, and granted on a first-come, first-served basis. DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS SEPTEMBER 29th.
The breakdown for funding:
- $135.00 scholarship toward the cost of registration, courtesy of the Benedum Foundation.
- 50% reimbursable discount on the cost of a room at the Westin. The Westin’s rate for this conference is $169/night. With taxes & fees, the resulting room cost, minus reimbursement, is approximately $90.00/night. This discount is the result of a sponsorship on the part of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
*Organizations in other counties may also qualify for the registration scholarship.* You’ll find that information, along with a full list of fees and link to Summit registration here.
