Allegheny Regional Festival of Books
September 14, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - September 15, 2018 @ 12:00 pm
The Allegheny Regional Festival of Books is a new celebration of books hosted in a scenic region of Pennsylvania. Taking place throughout Bedford, Ebensburg, and Somerset, the Festival brings together local and regional authors in one place, while storytellers, poets, and walking guides deliver live presentations around town.
The inaugural Allegheny Regional Festival of Books will be held on September 15, 2018 in Bedford, Pennsylvania, with a Friday Evening Keynote Author Reception to kick off the event on September 14, at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort.
This year’s speaker is Ellen Prentiss Campbell, author of the novel The Bowl with Gold Seams (Apprentice House, 2016) and the short story collection Contents Under Pressure (Broadkill River Press, 2016), which was nominated for the National Book Award. Her short fiction has been featured in numerous journals including The Massachusetts Review, The Potomac Review, and The MacGuffin. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The Fiction Writers Review, where she is a contributing editor, and the Washington Independent Review of Books. She lives in Washington, D.C., and summers in Manns Choice, PA.
As part of its mission, the Festival supports literacy programs year-round. Visit its website for full details on a schedule of events, and ways to participate. You can also follow the festival on Facebook, for all the latest updates.
