Now in its 8th year, the Diamonds & Ice Gala has become a winter tradition for Bedford County and beyond. Attendees look forward to this black-tie optional extravaganza every year, with live music, a beautiful meal, and silent auction.
The event started as a way for the three partner organizations to join forces for one fundraiser with a bigger impact than they’d have on their own. Each year they’ve raised more than they had previously. Last year that amounted to $17,000 for each group. That’s a large part of the operating budgets for the Bedford County Humane Society and for Your Safe Haven. And that’s money that will go back into Bedford nonprofits through the Bedford County Endowments. Co-Chair Lori Copley says, “We like partnering with the Endowments because, although it’s three partners, money from the Endowments benefits nonprofits throughout the county, so it really helps everyone in Bedford.”
Diamonds & Ice gets bigger every year, and this year is no exception. Organizers added a jazz pianist at check-in, so guests will enjoy live music the moment they walk in. They also hired a new band, offering a wider variety of music than in previous years. The Bachelor Boys will perform everyone’s favorites from the last several decades – standards and classics to modern hits.
Guests will still enjoy highlights they’ve grown to expect: professional red carpet photos, a three-course menu specially prepared for us by the Omni’s executive chef, and a silent auction filled with fantastic prizes including vacations, art, and jewelry.
The Omni provides special room rates for Gala attendees who choose to spend the night. Tickets are $135 per person, or $1,500 for a reserved table of ten.
