Your heart, our mission
The Legacy Society is our way of acknowledging your commitment to the future—today.
Becoming a member is simple: include the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies as a beneficiary of a gift from your estate and notify us of your plan. We can also help you identify ways to directly contribute to causes close to your heart, forever.
Reach out to Director of Donor Services Katrina Perkosky to learn more or get started: 814-208-8411 or kperkosky@cfalleghenies.org.

Personal & Professional
End-of-life planning presents opportunities for new beginnings and lasting legacies.
Perhaps you spent your life committed to a cause you’d like to support after you’re gone.
Maybe you’ve harbored a passion for helping people but haven’t been able to find the time or resources to make the contribution that’s in your heart.
When you join our Legacy Society, your generosity impacts your community long beyond this lifetime. The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies works with individuals and their wealth advisors to create permanent funding for whatever cause or causes you’d like to empower. We will collaborate with you to ensure your charitable intent is honored in perpetuity. We can match your gift with any charitable purpose you can imagine—or you can support our Fund for the Future, an endowment established to provide for changing needs in our region, no matter what the future may hold.
Permanently Restricted Endowments
When you think of what you value in our community, certain assets and organizations come to mind. One way to protect those assets is to grow a permanently restricted endowment specifically for its benefit through a fund at the CFA.
Donations to these funds are invested permanently and the interest earned from these investments is restricted to the exclusive support of the organization that you love—or, in the case of the Fund for the Future, the community you love.
By growing a restricted endowment to the point where it can provide for at least 30 percent of the organization’s operating budget, you can help to ensure that organization will be a major part of our community forever.
What a legacy that will be!

Why Join the Legacy Society?
“The Legacy Society is a unique and satisfying way to make a difference in the life of our community.”
“Diane and I are blessed to be able to provide support to educational causes through the foundation. It gives us the potential for our gifts to appreciate in value. It also provides great convenience when we choose to make a donation. The staff is always very responsive and helpful.”
“That’s why we love the Foundation. That legacy will carry on. They have a record of what we want, and we feel so secure in that.”
