Creator Square Applications Open
First group of makers and artists could be working downtown in spring 2020
Creator Square is set to open to artists, makers, and small batch manufacturers in spring 2020. Construction at the Creator Square makerspace and gallery space is on track, and the application process is now open for the first time. Details are available at the Creator Square website, creatorsquarejohnstown.com.
Here’s a quick overview of how the makerspace will work:
For a modest monthly fee, the program offers generous private studios, a variety of tools and resources, including 3-D printers, CNC routers, and other technologies within a shared artisan community building. Costs can be offset by teaching opportunities and sales on site and in a local gallery. Free training and materials will also be available.
Program administrators are conducting a nationwide call for creators but also are seeking local talent to showcase and support.
