CAMBRIA COUNTY—The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is pleased to announce that Paula L. Hencel has joined the Foundation as its new Donor Services Officer.

In her role, Hencel will serve as the frontline contact for donors who have established funds and orienting new donors and fund representatives to the Community Foundation. She will play a critical role in maintaining and growing philanthropic resources for our community and keeping donors informed about Foundation activity.

“We are delighted to have a skilled professional such as Paula Hencel join our staff. Her experience in listening to and learning from donors and their families be of great value in connecting people to the resources the Community Foundation has to offer. Paula joins us at an exciting time for the Foundation and we look for her to add to our momentum by being visible and proactive resource to help people and organizations realize their philanthropic interests in our community,” said Mike Kane, president.

Hencel added, “Making a meaningful difference in the communities I live and work has always been a priority for me, so the opportunity to join the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies and support its mission to engage individuals to appreciate how they can do good in their community was ideal for me. I am looking forward to the opportunity to develop meaningful community relationships, build awareness and understanding about this community foundation resource, and engage individuals to consider their philanthropic priorities and the potential to improve the community where they live.”

Hencel has spent the past 10 years working in foundation roles with a focus in the healthcare setting most recently at the University of Pittsburgh’s Medical and Health Sciences Foundation in Shadyside. She is an Indiana County native and excited to begin working closer to home.
