Community Foundation for the Alleghenies supports grassroots efforts, philanthropy, and nonprofits in Indiana, Cambria, Bedford, and Somerset counties

We are honored to support grassroots efforts to prevent suicide in our region, de-stigmatize mental illness, and help prepare first responders.

The following are suicide prevention and awareness projects that operate under the CFA umbrella:

Cambria County Suicide Prevention Task Force Fund
The Cambria County Suicide Prevention Task Force Fund supports efforts and activities of the Cambria County Suicide Prevention Task Force, which works to support those affected by suicide, provide education and understanding by collaborating with the community to prevent suicide, provide crisis intervention, and reduce the stigma associated with suicide.

Cambria County Coroner’s Office Yellow Ribbon Program Fund
The Cambria County Coroner’s Office Yellow Ribbon Program Fund provides support for programs that work to educate individuals of all ages about suicide, implement initiatives that work to prevent suicide, and hold events to memorialize and remember loved ones who have died by suicide.

Laurel Highlands Semicolon Project Fund
The Laurel Highlands Semicolon Project Fund supports all efforts and activities of the Laurel Highlands Semicolon Project, which works to increase awareness of suicide prevention to local youth.

S.H.I.E.L.D. 911 Fund
The S.H.I.E.L.D. 911 Fund provides support for S.H.I.E.L.D. 911, an organization that works to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention in the first responder community by offering Support, Healing, Intervention, and Education to Lead and De-Stigmatize mental illness.
