Jim Janak Memorial Student Athlete Award This fund was created in memory of Jim Janak, who excelled in sports. It recognizes outstanding high school athletes from Cambria County and supports their academic pursuits. Eligible applicants must have lettered in two high school sports, display a strong work ethic in their sports and classroom, demonstrate teamwork, loyalty and selflessness when dealing with others, and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Larry J. McGiboney Music Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to provide a scholarship to at least one senior student at a local high school within Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 6, with preference given to a Windber High School student, who plans to attend college with a major in music.

Marino Fulchiero Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to provide a scholarship to a student attending Bishop Carroll High School. The scholarship winner is chosen by the school principal.

Camp PARC Helping Hand Scholarship Fund
Camp PARC Helping Hand Scholarship Fund The purpose of this scholarship is to provide resources to equip higher education-bound students who have excellent academic achievement and a record of outstanding service to Camp PARC. In the spirit of People Always Responding with Compassion, the scholarship committee seeks well-rounded, kindhearted, and community-minded individuals who are interested in making a difference in our world. Applicants must have served as a Junior Counselor, Peer Buddy, Childcare Counselor, Resident Staff Assistant, or a combination of these positions for a minimum of two years for the full duration of any of the camping sessions at Camp PARC in addition to or including the summer in which they apply for the scholarship.

Galen Head, Jr. Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to honor the memory of Galen Head, Jr., a former trainer with the Johnstown Chiefs Hockey club, and assist other local student athletes in pursuit of higher education. The fund will provide a scholarship to a senior from Bishop McCort, Conemaugh Valley, Ferndale, Greater Johnstown, Richland, or Westmont Hilltop High School who intends to pursue a bachelor’s degree at any University of Pittsburgh campus in the fall semester after graduation.

Sergeant First Class Raymond Richard Buchan Memorial Scholarship Fund and Veterans Education Project The intent of this fund is to provide scholarships to Bishop McCort, Conemaugh Valley, Ferndale, Greater Johnstown, Johnstown Christian, Richland, Somerset Area, Westmont Hilltop, and Windber High School seniors who either have made a commitment to serve in the military or have a family member who is serving or has honorably served in the military. This scholarship was created by Richard and Jean Buchan in memory of their son, Sergeant Buchan, a Westmont graduate, who was killed in action in Iraq in July 2007.

Indiana County Fire Chiefs Association Student Scholarship Award This fund provides scholarship awards in recognition of community service and volunteer work. Eligible applicants must reside in a first response area of a member fire department of the Indiana County Fire Chiefs Association. This opportunity is open to high school seniors, high school graduates who are currently in college, and non-traditional college students. Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded and can be applied to education at a college, university, business, or trade school. Individuals who want to take EMT or paramedic training can also apply for the award.

Hayes Family Trust Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to provide scholarships for seniors from Blacklick Valley High School who plan to attend college and major in accounting and who demonstrate a strong academic performance by carrying at least a 94% grade average. They should also be active in both school functions and community activities. If there are no eligible students, consideration will be given to students who plan to major in a business-related field and students who carry at least an 85% grade average. Rotary Club of Northern Cambria County Scholarship and Award Fund This fund is to to provide scholarships to a graduating senior that has been accepted into a post-secondary educational institution by the time of the award. The awardee must reside in the Northern Cambria County Rotary Club's service area, to include but not exclusive to Northern Cambria, Cambria Heights and Harmony School Districts. Children of Northern Cambria County Rotary Club members are not eligible to apply. This fund shall also contribute to worthwhile local projects and supporters in northern Cambria County. Anna Buffoni Award
Anna Buffoni Award The award is given to a senior female student at Central Cambria High School who best exemplifies the ideals presented in a quote by Albert Einstein: “The ideals which I care to use as beacons that shall show the way for me to serve my mankind towards higher objectives of humanness, are goodness, beauty, and truth. Goodness, in being kind and gentle to all. Beauty, in perpetual improvement in all that I touch. Truth, in all that I do.” All high school teachers and other high school employees may cast their vote for the female Senior whom they feel is best qualified to receive the Award. There is no application process to be qualified for the Award. The winner of the Award is any Central Cambria High School female Senior receiving the most votes. The candidate for the Award does not have to be planning to go to college to qualify for the Award.

Elbert and Lillie Mae Jones Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to provide an endowment which will provide a scholarship to be distributed annually from the Fund, to a Conemaugh Valley High School or Greater Johnstown High School senior. The Greater Johnstown Minority Scholars Club will distribute the scholarship. In selecting a recipient of the scholarship, the criteria shall be an African American, average or better student, and attending an accredited post-secondary school. Johnson Family Scholarship Fund This fund provides an annual award to a graduating senior at Conemaugh Valley High School who plans to pursue post-secondary education at a trade, vocational, or technical school. This scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best displays their motivation to succeed in their intended area of trade, vocational, or technical education. While a transcript is requested as a part of the application, the winner does not necessarily have to have the highest GPA. Instead, it will be awarded to a student who is well-rounded and passionate about their future education and career.

LivRed Foundation Fund This fund provides support for causes that educate, inspire, and encourage people to choose kindness, which celebrates the memory of Olivia Catherine Red, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 2018, including providing funding for the Side-by-Side Award, a scholarship to recognize outstanding individuals who dedicate their time to fighting indifference, intolerance, and injustice. This scholarship was created by Richard and Jean Buchan in memory of their son, Sergeant Buchan, a Westmont graduate, who was killed in action in Iraq in July 2007.

Eligible students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (out of a possible 4.0) and a strong history of community service and volunteer work. First preference is to award the scholarship to a student who will be majoring in the following fields that reflect the type of work that Claudia Mehall performed during her career at Forest Hills School District as the Supervisor of Special Education and School Psychologist: special education, psychology, social work, or a related field. If no students meet the field of study requirement, the scholarship should be awarded to the student whose community service and volunteer work most closely resemble the traits that Claudia displayed during her work: empathy, kindness, patience, and concern for others. Selection to be done by the Forest Hills scholarship committee using their knowledge of the senior class. There is no application process.

First preference will be given to applicants who are pursuing a major in an educational field, but if no students meet this requirement, then the scholarship can be awarded to a student pursuing a different major, as long as they have a 3.3 or higher grade point average and meet the rest of the scholarship criteria.

Walter E. Wood Scholarship Fund Provides scholarships each year at Forest Hills High School until the total sum of the fund is expended. The scholarships shall consist of $1,000.00 to one graduating boy and $1,000 to one graduating girl for college, trade/vocational school or personal enterprise. Each recipient shall be from a single-parent family; if criterion cannot be met, the scholarship shall not be awarded in that year and funds shall roll over to the following year or until criterion in met. A prime requisite of the student is a good moral character, evidence by a positive moral influence on others. It would also be here where he would realize his true potential of doing what he loved and turning it into a career of his own. With the continued support from his family and friends, Ryan would go onto graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2004, but he would frequently reflect back on his experiences at JHS as a major stepping stone in making his passion his profession. James Kocher Memorial Music Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to provide a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 annually to a Westmont Hilltop High School senior student. The student selected is to be pursuing a major or minor degree in music. Mr. Kocher’s love of music inspired his family to create this endowment in 2007. Mr. Kocher conducted the Johnstown Reed Band for 25 years, was a clarinetist with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra for 20 years, music director at Franklin St. Methodist Church and choir director for the Westmont Church of the Brethren. Jim Janak Memorial Student Athlete Award This fund was created in memory of Jim Janak, who excelled in sports. It recognizes outstanding high school athletes from Cambria County and supports their academic pursuits. Eligible applicants must have lettered in two high school sports, display a strong work ethic in their sports and classroom, demonstrate teamwork, loyalty and selflessness when dealing with others, and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

McGiboney Music Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to provide a scholarship to at least one senior student at a local high school within Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 6, with preference given to a Windber High School student, who plans to attend college with a major in music.

Mitchell and Rebecca Azar Family Scholarship Fund The intent of this fund is to benefit annually a graduating student of Westmont Hilltop High School with a scholarship award of $500. Students must have at least a 94% grade average and attend one of the following institutions: Washington and Jefferson College, George Washington University, West Virginia University, or Pennsylvania State University. Oreo Foundation in Memory of Alexa Eplett Scholarship Fund This fund honors the memory of Alexa Marie Eplett, who lived her life thinking of and doing for others first. She touched so many lives through her acts of kindness, humor and unique outlook in life. "Just like the middle of an Oreo cookie, she was not only the middle child but the sweet center of our family...hence the nickname Alexa was given of Oreo and the name of her foundation." This scholarship is to be given to those students who best demonstrate Alexa's passion to always pay it forward to others and who best exemplify her beautiful spirit. Richie Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund provides scholarship support for graduating senior students from schools within the Greater Johnstown region who plan to enroll in post-secondary education and major in education, psychology, social work or a related major which would lead to a career in teaching, counseling (adults or children), addiction recovery, or other job related to preventing people from using drugs and helping those addicted to get sober.

Sergeant First Class Raymond Richard Buchan Memorial Scholarship Fund and Veterans Education Project The intent of this fund is to provide scholarships to Bishop McCort, Conemaugh Valley, Ferndale, Greater Johnstown, Johnstown Christian, Richland, Somerset Area, Westmont Hilltop, and Windber High School seniors who either have made a commitment to serve in the military or have a family member who is serving or has honorably served in the military. This scholarship was created by Richard and Jean Buchan in memory of their son, Sergeant Buchan, a Westmont graduate, who was killed in action in Iraq in July 2007.
