Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is a PHEAA-approved PATH Program partner

Through a partnership between PHEAA’s PATH Program and CFA, more than 130 local students are getting twice as much help paying for college. Our participation means a win for donors and for students from our community.

CFA serves as an eligible partner for this program, which means students who are awarded a scholarship from one of our funds may be able to receive an additional match. (See more info about eligibility here.) We are one of only a handful of scholarship-awarding organizations in our region that are approved partners for PATH.

For the 2018-19 academic year, we were able to help 138 individual students get extra financial support through this program, outside of what they already received in scholarship awards and other PHEAA grants.

Here’s an overview of the PATH funding local students received over the past year:

Bedford County: 15 students, totaling $29,604
Cambria County: 66 students, totaling $59,991
Somerset County: 77 students, totaling $100,922
