BEDFORD – The 7th annual Diamonds & Ice Gala is just about a month away and preparations for it are in full swing.

“The event is the premier event in Bedford County.  It’s a fun evening where people get to ’dress up’ and enjoy great food, excellent entertainment, and good conversation all while supporting three not-for-profit organizations in Bedford County,” said Lori Copley, co-chair of the event and Community Foundation Board Member.

This year’s event will be held on January 30 from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa. It will also benefit three nonprofits in Bedford County, including the Bedford County Humane SocietyBedford County Endowments, and Your Safe Haven.

Copley said this event is different from other benefits. “I believe it’s unique for several reasons.  First, it’s a single event that benefits three organizations. This kind of partnership allows us to combine talents, connections, and resources to make the event so successful. Also, most of the attendees make a weekend out of the event. They come early on Saturday to relax and/or enjoy the amenities of the Omni Bedford Springs Resort, get dressed up for the event, then stay overnight in the luxury rooms at the resort. It’s the perfect post-holiday getaway,” said Copley.

Copley has been going to the gala since it started and has been co-chair of it for the last five years.

“The committee works very hard for at least eight months out of the year to make this event a success. Each organization is very grateful for the folks who plan, attend, and sponsor the event. As a board member of the Bedford County Humane Society, I can tell you that gala funds are a big part of our operational budget each year.”

“In addition to being a really enjoyable event, the Diamonds and Ice Gala is a wonderful testament to the gala committee, the sponsors, and the Bedford County community in working together to support important local causes. The Bedford County Endowments and the Community Foundation are proud to be a part of it,” said Mike Kane, President and Executive Director.

Copley said the night is full of fun and excitement. From the attire to the decorations it’s a stunning event.

“This is an opportunity to get rid of the winter blahs and help support three valuable organizations all at the same time. It’s an evening to look good and feel good about doing good. Also, our silent auction items include some fabulous getaways, beautiful jewelry, and fine art.”

Tickets can be purchased online by clicking on gala. Sponsorship opportunities are still available; please contact Kay Reynolds with the Bedford County Endowments through the Community Foundation.
