Introducing Lladel Lichty

Longtime local nonprofit leader Lladel Lichty is stepping into the role of Somerset County Director here at CFA.

Lichty comes to the Foundation after more than seven years as Community Relationship Manager at United Way of the Laurel Highlands. Before that, she spent 10 years working with the American Cancer Society’s Pennsylvania Division.

“We wanted to make sure we found the best fit for our Somerset County Director role,” CFA President Mike Kane said. “We think Lladel’s experience, connections, compassion, and community-minded approach make her ideal for this position and ideally situated to help us grow community-led philanthropy and build on the progress we’ve seen in Somerset County and our region.”

Lichty, who replaces former Somerset County Director and current Somerset County Commissioner Pam Tokar-Ickes, will work from CFA’s Somerset Borough office in the Union Kimberly building at 166 East Union Street. As CFA’s Somerset County Director, Lichty will work closely with CFA’s Somerset County Advisory Board members to create new philanthropic opportunities in Somerset County and lead an ongoing campaign to push the Somerset County Community Fund to $1 million. She is stepping into the new role immediately.

“I am pleased to be working alongside the wonderful staff at CFA, and I look forward to working with the Board and Advisory Committee to grow the county’s funds and endowments,” Lichty said.

Lichty also has played an important role in several Somerset County organizations, including serving as a charter board member of the Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial and a board member and tourism chair for the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce. She’s also a member and volunteer at the Somerset County Drug Free Communities; the Somerset County Commissioners’ Leadership Committee; the Somerset County Health and Welfare Council; and Somerset Rotary Club, and she was appointed by the county commissioners to chair the Somerset County General Authority.
