Bedford County Endowments

From Kay Reynolds, Director of the Bedford County Endowments:

"The Bedford County Endowments continues to flourish within the community each year, and this year has been no different. Goals our region set in 2007 are being accomplished, along with the formation of additional funds that will continue to serve the interests of Bedford County and its residents.
The Bedford County Endowments assisted in numerous projects throughout the last year. The first venture was the Bedford Springs Music Festival Concert that was held during summer under the tent at Old Bedford Village. Another community festivity was the wonderful Pennsylvania Consort; this series brings a varied sequence of performers to the Squares in Bedford for summer afternoon recitals each year. Bedford's original Junteenth celebration at the Fairgrounds commemorates the announcement of the end of slavery. This event alone brings music, crafts and storytelling to our town.
In May, our Annual Arts on the Squares brought artists from many surrounding regions and states.  The event's main focus was to show artwork to the public and also assist retailers in our community with the added business they were receiving all weekend.
To this date Bedford County continues to enjoy a remarkable increase in population and employment. As Bedford's local economy grows, it is our hope the Bedford Endowments significance to the community will also prosper in the future."
